Pencil-Pusher Central

Comment on this in our Message Board!

Pencil-Pusher Central view from Broadway St. NEPencil-Pusher Central is the name for an institution more commonly known as the Minneapolis Public Schools' "Educational Service Center" (district headquarters), located at 807 NE Broadway St. in Minneapolis, MN. The large, old brick building houses offices for a number of administrative staff who have no discernable puspose. It also is the venue for school board meetings--despite the fact that this locale is not centrally located, or very easy to get to for most city residents--making it hard for people to observe their government in action. And to make matters worse, school board meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:00 P. M.--a time when many residents have to do something revolutionary to those running our schools--earn an honest living.

How did they get their name?

After analyzing the sick situation of things here in Minneapolis, Vinny's Education Coalition realized that not only is the school HQ filled with pencil pushers, but their self-proclaimed name is dishonest. They call themselves the Educational Service Center, but they don't teach anybody, and they don't provide any useful services. So, we call them Pencil-Pusher Central. We feel its' accurate.

PencilPusher Central Ad ParodyShould We Get Rid of Pencil-Pusher Central?

The short answer is YES! But why? Briefly, because we have a budget deficit, and we need to cut spending somewhere, so why don't we cut out areas that don't help students? (Another question is why we've been wasting all this money in the first place, but that's another story). We have more than enough staff members to "administrate" at the school level, so why not get rid of all these drains on the system?--Dr. Vinny, South High Sucks.com Founder & Publisher
