Editor's Note: The following websites are not affiliated with SouthHighSucks.com or Vinny's Education Coalition, and we have no control over their availability or content.

South High Teacher Websites

Michael Boucher.net
This site, operated by History and Philosophy teacher Michael Boucher, covers assignments for students in his classes and also provides information on History Day, a winter ritual at South that Boucher is somewhat obsessed with.

Mr. Jensen.Net
This site is operated by English teacher Mark Jensen, who also is the faculty advisor for the official (school-sanctioned and controlled) student newspaper, The Southerner. Jensen has a schedule of assignments for his classes, and in many cases has the assignments and readings available online. Of course, with Jensen, the deadlines are never too solid, so students generally can depend more on the accuracy of face-to-face contact with Mark more than what they read on his site. At last check, this site was updated several months ago.

Extracurricular Activity Websites

The Southerner
The Southerner is South High's official, school-sanctioned and controlled student newspaper. Many of the articles in The Southerner are written by students for credit in Mark Jensen's Journalism classes, though the paper is still technically an extracurricular activity that any South student with a 2.0+ GPA can participate in.

District Propaganda

WARNING: The following websites may be offensive to those who dislike lies, deceit, B. S., and worthless scoundrels.

MPLS South High Official Site
South High's official site contains little substance; it's primary purpose is to disseminate drivel about how "wonderful" their school is, while failing to mention any of it's many drawbacks. You can, however, at last check, get a copy of the discipline policy and other school policies in the student handbook section. Other than that, it's a waste of bytes. Change your links; the URL for South's site has changed in early 2004, due to a pointless redesign. Perhaps they're hiding from curious web surfers.

Minneapolis Public Schools Official Site
As you might expect, the folks at the DISTRICT HQ (aka PencilPusher Central) have written up numerous phony-baloney reports about how great they are despite the fact that the high school graduation rate is way below 50%. If you have a fondness for glib press releases or would like to learn how to lie from the masters, you can sign up for a number of free (unless you live in MN, in which case your taxes are paying for people to write this junk) e-newsletters, which can keep you informed about what the district wants you to hear.
